Your Responsibilities


As a Senior Controls Engineer you will lead efforts to connect and control the expansion of automation and technology solutions being implemented within the Davenport Fabrication, Maintenance and Paint operations. You will play an integral part in designing and developing future investments that support our transformational Smart Connected Factory objectives, while supporting an already impressive fleet of assets with subject matter expertise, troubleshooting and upskilling opportunities. In addition, you will:


  • Join a cross- functional, automation- focused powerhouse team environment
  • Plan, coordinate and execute engineering activities for various projects or processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Research, develop and implement new innovative applications and solutions to automate core value stream processes
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to upskilling by developing a yearly training regimen that can be shared with existing fabrication team members to stabilize and sustain on- going support of automation solutions
  • Document robust training, testing and troubleshooting plans for production, maintenance and support staff employees
  • Collaborate with Factory Automation, Smart Connected Factory, IT, ETEC and external resources
  • Provide daily technical support for urgent production issues, including root cause analysis and resolution  
  • Define and implement preventative health metrics

What Skills You Need


  • Extensive knowledge of automation, programming and data visualization tools 
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills 

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Extensive experience with software and computer programming systems
  • Experience programming and integrating with a programmable logic controller (PLC) in a manufacturing environment, across a wide range of use cases 
  • Experience with machine health monitoring software, vision systems, data visualization tools
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems 
  • Thorough knowledge of all fabrication processes (cutting through machining)

Education Details


Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology, other technical degree or equivalent work experience
