Your Responsibilities

 

As a Solution Architect for John Deere World Headquarters located in Moline, IL, you will be viewed as an expert in computer security and secure architecture for Global IT Security and enterprise tools and services.  You will conduct research of a complex nature in that capacity and act as a consultant to the enterprise for current and future security technologies. The major duties performed in this position are:

 

  • Responsible for partnering closely with enterprise product managers, security engineers, and enterprise architects, and for maintaining a deep understanding of the product manager's vision, intent, and roadmap
  • Responsible for creating secure architectural designs and delivering architectural work products that directly enable the realization of the product manager's vision, intent, and roadmap
  • Participate in evaluation of new security solutions and proof of concept deployments. Assist in transitioning technologies and processes to production as well as resolution of major incidents
  • Drive high quality design and engineering practices that foster security, confidentiality, integrity, and availability, through architectural design and review
  • Utilize industry knowledge of information security frameworks, technology, and tools to inform strategy and direction of Information Security products and services
  • Responsible for collaborating closely with agile teams to ensure that effective technology solutions are built, and for maintaining a productive working relationship with all team members to support this joint responsibility

What Skills You Need

 

Experience working with applications, data, infrastructure, and IT security

  • 7 or more years of Information technology experience and/or Information Security experience
  • Experience using architecture principles and practices when making decisions and creating/designing solutions and associated work products
  • 2 or more years of Agile and/or DevSecOps delivery practices
  • An ability to inform and influence others through your strong communication skills

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Experience and/or Certifications with AWS or Azure Platform
  • Hands on Experience with DevOps principles
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices, such as Unit/Integration Testing, Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Deployment, Design Patterns, Automation, and Monitoring
  • Strong desire to learn and develop skills in new technologies

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience
