Your Responsibilities

 

As a Product Marketing Manager for See & Spray for John Deere located in Ankeny, IA, you will bring deep knowledge of the customer, market, business, and industry, gather first-hand feedback from customers and channel partners, and collaborate with internal stakeholders on the front line of See & Spray product delivery. You will…

 

  • Partner with Product Management on the See & Spray opportunity backlog delivery, collaborating with engineering and program management.
  • Customer Acquisition liaison and customer advocate in the Product Development Process.
  • Partner with engineering to prioritize the value-creating features, validate the product can create that value to customers and to the business.
  • Develop and validate pricing, product positioning and product messaging with the market (customers, dealers, field team) through customer advisor groups, customer focus groups, dealer advisor groups, and customer visits.

Additionally you will...

 

  • Develop the Product Value Proposition Document that incorporates technology adoption, agronomic data, competitive comparison, environmental / sustainability goals, and solution opportunities to maximize value / revenue.
  • Develop customer value stories highlighting the John Deere Difference within the Sales Manual.
  • Partner with regional teams on launch activities including photo shoots, trade shows, and training events.

What Skills You Need

 

  • 2 or more years of experience with regular customer contact, knowledge of dealer/distribution network, and broad sprayer product knowledge.
  • 2 or more years of experience in gathering input from multiple stakeholders and set priority for team
  • 2 or more years of experience in business case & financial analysis development
  • Proven track record to influence, collaborate, and engage with others from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with an ability to resolve ambiguity
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate technical product information in a clear, concise, and creative manner
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically as needed (seasonally) for business

  • Experience in related or similar roles
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Strong business and customer knowledge (Production Systems and Spraying Job)
  • Strong product knowledge (Sprayers)
  • Strong Dealer and Region knowledge

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Marketing, or equivalent discipline
