Your Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer for the John Deere Order Management Program – Equipment team in Chicago, IL or Moline, IL you will be responsible for collaborating with other engineers to design, develop, implement, & support the best technical solutions to complex business problems for the Equipment Product to ensure the solution helps meet the operational, integration, cost, quality and performance goals of the overall solution.

  • Work as an active member on the Equipment Agile development team
  • Engage in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of high quality front-end and back-end applications
  • Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation, Continuous Integration/Deployment, and technical debt management
  • Assist with root cause analysis and resolution of production support issues
  • Technical pairing with embedded team members

 

What Skills You Need

  • 2+ years of experience with JavaScript utilizing React and Redux
  • Knowledge and exposure to Java web development with Spring and RESTful APIs
  • Exposure working with SQL/NoSQL databases (i.e. HANA, DB2, MongoDB)
  • 1+ years of experience with TDD and acceptance test-driven development utilizing Jest, RTL, Enzyme, Puppeteer, J-Unit, Mockito, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile/Scaled Agile methodology and full life-cycle development

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse cultural and technical backgrounds
  • Experience with DevOps principles and lean development such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub, GHA, Jenkins, Active Control etc.)
  • Experience configuring, implementing, and utilizing system execution/quality monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, SonarQube, etc.
  • Working experience of AWS services (ECS, Lambda, S3, etc.) and understanding of infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Working understanding of design patterns and loosely coupled architectures
  • Strong desire to learn and develop skills in new technologies

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Technology related area
