Your Responsibilities

 

As a Principal Software Engineer working on a hybrid basis at our new office in downtown Chicago, you will provide design leadership to multiple product teams who are responsible for planning, executing, coding, and testing applications across John Deere’s full eCommerce product family. 

 

In your role as Principal Software Engineer, eCommerce, you will also be accountable for leading our eCommerce engineering initiatives through providing coaching and mentoring to others and by driving system engineering best practices across multiple application product teams.  

     

You will also be involved with: 

 

  • Providing guidance to dependent external eCommerce systems 
  • Advocating for system architecture, data management policies, and standards across all Ecommerce product teams 

What Skills You Need

 

  • 12+ year track record of software engineering experience across a wide breadth of infrastructure and technology competencies, including Application Development, APIs, Databases, Infrastructure, Cloud, Data Analytics, and UX 
  • 12+ years of expertise with leveraging change management to design, develop, test, and integrate highly- complex software solutions  
  • Expertise in full-stack development, including 7+ years of experience with designing and implementing JavaScript UI applications with ReactJS, jQuery, or Angular 
  • 7+ years of experience leveraging DevSecOps and lean development principles within an Agile/Scrum team environment 
  • 5+ years of expertise utilizing AWS for cloud development

  • A proven track record of delivering eCommerce solutions and utilizing Data and Analytics to augment Commerce Solutions 
  • Familiarity with SAP Hybris  
  • A reputation of providing technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to members of agile software engineering teams 

Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline, OR equivalent full-stack software engineering experience
