Responsibilities

 
As a Software Engineer, with the DevOps Platform Services Team located in Chicago, IL - You will have a unique opportunity to develop high-quality software in a large-scale global application for a Fortune 500 company that is regularly ranked among the best companies to work for in the country. You will be an integral member of the John Deere Dealer Business System program, whose effort will be instrumental in shaping the future of agriculture.
 
In addition you will:
  • Transform business requirements into high-quality solutions in Microsoft tools and technologies.
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to continually demonstrate, refine, and improve product offering
  • Collaborate, engage, and inspire the team to identify areas of opportunity for continual innovation
  • Create and maintain necessary documentation, as directed, or needed
  • Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation
  • Participate in team Scrum events (e.g., daily stand-up, refinement, sprint planning, sprint review, sprint demos)
  • Mentor other software engineers on the team

What Skills You Need

 
  • 4+ Years of expertise in design, develop, and test desktop and web applications and APIs using Microsoft technologies
  • 2+ Years of development proficiency of cloud-based Web Apps, DevOps cloud services using Microsoft Azure platform and ADO pipeline
  • 2+ Years of proficiency in the development of web-based systems & integrations utilizing scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, and related scripting languages
  • 2+ years of varied database exposure (e.g. MS SQL, DB2, Oracle)
  • 2+ years of expertise working within an Agile software environment

What Makes You Stand Out

 
  • Hands on Experience with DevOps principles and lean development such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (ADO, GitHub, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Proven expertise with full stack web development (e.g., C#/.NET, Xamarin, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, SQL)
  • Certifications in Microsoft Azure
  • Working knowledge of Azure development including Function and Logic apps
  • Background in Microsoft Dynamics
  • Working understanding of design patterns and loosely coupled architectures
  • Strong desire to learn and develop skills in new technologies

Education

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field
