Your Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer for the John Deere Order Management Plan team in Chicago, IL, or Moline, IL  you will be responsible for collaborating with other engineers to design, develop, implement, and support new and existing functionality in the Plan Product to ensure the solution design helps meet the operational, integration, cost, quality, and performance goals of the overall solution. 

  • Work as an active member on the Plan Agile development team
  • Engage in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of high quality front-end and back-end applications
  • Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation, Continuous Integration/Deployment, and technical debt management
  • Assist with root cause analysis and resolution of production support issues
  • Technical pairing with embedded team members

What Skills You Need

  • 2 or more years of experience with Java web development with Spring and RESTful API'S 
  • Exposure working with SQL/NoSQL databases (i.e. HANA, DB2, DocumentDB, etc.)
  • Working understanding of design patterns
  • 1 or more years of experience with TDD and acceptance test-driven development utilizing J-Unit, Mockito,etc

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Exposure working with any of the following technologies: JavaScript utilizing ReactJS, SAP OO-ABAP, or SAP Native HANA.
  • Experience with DevOps principles and lean development such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub, Jenkins, Active Control etc.)
  • Experience configuring, implementing, and utilizing system execution/quality monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, SonarQube, etc.
  • Development experience using ag-Grid
  • Working experience of AWS services (ECS, Lambda, S3, etc.) and understanding of infrastructure as code using terraform or CloudFormation
  • Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering
