Your Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer for the Dealer Management Services org,  you will design, build and deliver software for the products/components that make up the Service Admin Portal (SVAP) product suite and be involved with the technical implementation of the external integration points of systems within the product suite. 

  • Operate within an Agile team and participate in all aspects of that team's work regarding software analysis, development and testing 
  • Active team member in contributing to the team's technical practices leveraging industry standards for development practices 
  • Collaborate / contribute with other team members on product architecture, scalability, integrations 
  • Collaborate with other John Deere groups on the integrations of the Solution and those corresponding systems 
  • Work alongside other team members in the development of a DevSecOps culture 

What Skills You Need

  •  2+ years of proven experience in the design, development, testing and integration of complex software solutions leveraging change management; specifically with front-end and back-end designs, development and optimization.
  • Understanding of applications development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints 
  • Experience leveraging DevOps and lean development principles such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery  
  • Understanding of design patterns and loosely coupled architectures 
  • Working knowledge of designing and developing service-based architecture and/or micro-services
  • Growth mindset - willingness to deal and thrive in uncertainty   

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience in developing mobile apps for both iOS and Android in React Native.  
  • Experience in API and Microservices development
  • Experience with UI frameworks such as REACT, Angular or CSS 
  • Experience with software test automation (TDD and Unit Testing Frameworks: Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Cypress) (2+ years)   
  • Experience in AWS or similar cloud technologies 
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment 
  • Skilled in interpersonal communications. 

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
