John Deere is currently going through a Smart Industrial Redesign transformation.  To support our journey, it takes a unique skill set.  We recognize that may be available in the Chicagoland market.  As a Software Engineer for the Master Data Management area at John Deere, you will get the opportunity to work on mission critical products in a Fortune 500 company that is regularly ranked among the best companies to work for. Employees joining our Master Data management team set the engineering direction to dealer/customer master data within the Data & Analytics space.

  • Collaborate with other specialists to develop data engineering pipelines, API development, and deliver high quality data accessibility solutions to meet the growing needs of the product's business requirements
  • Work as an active member of the Master Data Engineering scrum team
  • Participate in discussions with the scrum team and collaborate with Senior Engineers, and the product teams to develop technical solutions to satisfy business requirements
  • Participate in a variety of efforts related to front, and back-end development
  • Participate in the analysis and design of solutions to improve quality, and performance
  • Assist with root cause analysis and resolution of production support issues
Required Qualifications:
  • 1 or more years of experience with design, development, testing, and integration of software solutions in Java web development preferably API development
  • 1 or more years of experience with AWS related technologies
  • Experience with applications development environment database, data management, and infrastructure capabilities and constraints
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment
  • Experience using DevSecOps and lean development principles such as Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery Working
  • Understanding of full-stack design patterns and crafting loosely coupled architectures and concept of microservices
  • Experience working with Test Driven Development and Unit Test Frameworks
  • 1 or more years of experience with multifaceted relational databases (Postgres / MongoDB, DB2,)
  • Willingness to initially work remote and travel up to 25% when the environment allows.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with Python/Spark
  • Experience with version control tools (GitHub)
  • Performance testing/tuning experience
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience in a related career field
