Title: Technology Solutions Architect - 33606

Your Responsibilities

As a Technology Solutions Architect you will be the primary backend technology architect for John Deere Sales Center (JDSC). JDSC is a dealer-facing web application that is being developed as part of the Order Management program. The JDSC team consists of 50+ team members. In addition, you will:

  • Informally lead "swat" team of senior-level technical resources to determine "how" we will accomplish technical challenges like new integrations, system design, etc.
  • Lead effort to investigate and introduce new technologies into JDSC including AWS, PostgreSQL, Octiv, Vertex, BlackDuck, Okta, Elasticsearch
  • Oversee backend infrastructure for JDSC
  • Represent John Deere Sales Center in architecture and design discussions within the Order Management program
  • Lead charge to define and adopt Java coding standards and best practices and the onboarding of new Java developers
  • Coach and counsel other employees to promote employee development and professional growth
  • Lead effort to proactively monitor and address security vulnerabilities
  • Lead effort to proactively monitor and address performance issues
  • Serve as a technical consultant for unit Information Technology (IT) management and staff for existing and future technology
  • Align department/unit Information Technology (IT) solutions with IT architecture and where gaps exist facilitate changes to overall architecture
  • Work with enterprise architects to find and resolve functional gaps in the Information Technology (IT) Architecture
  • Use Information Technology (IT) Architecture to design, build and deploy business solutions
  • Assist in resolution of difficult information systems technical issues whether within the company or with outside suppliers

What Skills You Need

  • Demonstrated technical leadership in current role
  • Experience with JAVA, JavaScript, JSON, XML, OData etc.
  • Strong understanding of applications development environments, databases (RDBMS and NoSql), data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints
  • Experience developing enterprise Java(J2EE) web projects
  • Expertise in computer technology, methodology, and full life-cycle development
  • Familiar with Agile software development
  • Strong background in Continuous Integration
  • Experience working with software development teams located in different physical locations including international locations
  • Experience using software configuration management system like Subversion or Git
  • Strong background in JavaScript based frameworks like ReactJS or AngularJS
  • Understanding of diverse infrastructure components and operating systems and the ability to troubleshoot in those environments
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution

  • Experience with SAP, MongoDB
  • Experience with Akana, SAP Gateway
  • Previous experience with dealer sales tools (JDQuote2, JDConfigurator, JDAim)

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

 

  • Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience
