Your Responsibilities

 

As an Electrical Design Engineer for the John Deere Construction & Forestry division, located in Dubuque, IA, you will be responsible for harnesses, electrical components and system design for Crawler product development. In addition you will:

 

  • Own & maintain the electrical system design for all current production crawler dozers, crawler loaders, and pipelayers.
  • Work with suppliers, supporting the development of new or improved electrical components.
  • Work with international supporting resources and contract resources. 
  • Assist the assembly line in troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Lead projects to improve cost, reliability, and quality of harnesses and electrical components. 
  • Implement & document design changes in PDM system.
  • Perform warranty and root cause analysis.

What Skills You Need

 

  • Engineering experience relating to electrical design.
  • Ability to read an electrical schematics and use a multimeter.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools (such as: Pro/E, Solidworks, AutoCAD).
  • Experience working in team environment.

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Working knowledge of electrical systems for mobile equipment applications. 
  • Experience with 3D Modeling tools for harness routing like ProE-ProCable or MentorGraphics-Capitol Harness. 
  • Experience working with electrical suppliers.

Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree.
