Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer, for the John Deere Construction and Forestry Division located in Dubuque, IA, you will perform design, development, and verification planning for electrical systems and components for the Outside Americas Excavator team.  In addition, you will:

  • Lead the design and development of electrical components and harnesses for the product line.
  • Have direct interaction with design tools such as Creo & PDM and development / analysis tools such as CHS & Simulink.
  • Participate in competitor benchmarking, vehicle specification development, as well as development and maintenance of product design guidelines for the product line
  • Develop JDLink reports to help the engineering and marketing teams better understand machine usage Be responsible for teaching and mentoring the global team in the areas of harness development and hardware design.

What Skills You Need

  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • 2 or more years of product design experience in the area of electrical and/or harness applications
  • 2 or more years of product design experience

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with Capital Harness and/or similar tools
  • Experience with at least one other product line in a design or test role
  • Electronics knowledge, particularly sensors and sensing systems
  • International experience and knowledge of Asian cultures

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
