This position is eligible for a partial telework arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.


 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Cab Assembly located in Dubuque, Iowayou will….

 

  • Lead projects of varying scope related to change management, capital equipment acquisitions, layout changes, or product updates
  • Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, quality plans, and labor standards for revisions to current operations
  • Support the Continuous Improvement process by identifying innovative solutions for safety, ergonomic, quality, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements
  • Be a mentor/lead on the Manufacturing Engineering Team to less experienced members

What Skills You Need

 

  • 2 or more years of experience in manufacturing, design, or testing of large equipment
  • Experience leading projects in Continuous Improvement and Safety & Ergonomics within manufacturing
  • 2 or more years of experience with problem solving and working in a team environment
  • Project management skills with the ability to execute a variety of tasks with little supervision
  • Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • 2 or more years of experience with incentive pay systems such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) and work measurement
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and equipment justification
  • Experience leading factory master planning activities or projects
  • Experience in identifying and innovating process improvements, focusing on improving business results in safety, quality, and productivity
  • Proficient using engineering tools and systems such as MPPlanner, SAP, Dynamic Line Balance Tool (DLBT), VisView, or etcetera

Education

 

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent related work experience
