Your Responsibilities

As an Embedded Software Engineer at the Global Crop Harvesting Product Design Center, you will be part of an international team of Software Developers working within an Agile Software scrum team, performing software development (C, C++, QT, Matlab/Simulink), testing, and integration of software components to control a Combine harvesting vehicle.  In addition, you will:

  • Perform embedded systems engineering tasks, including: requirements analysis, operational concept development, system design, component integration, design reviews, and vehicle platform testing and problem solving.
  • Perform functional and integration bench testing in a simulated, virtual environment as well as perform on-vehicle testing in the lab and/or field. .
  • Solve integration issues that involve multiple code modules, code bases, and/or multiple developers.
  • Drive resolution to issues found during field testing and provide software support to the verification and validation team.
  • Participate in field travel to support machines running in the field.

What Skills You Need

  • Demonstrated expertise in embedded software development with C/C++ programming language.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Model Based Software Design (MBSD) using the Matlab/Simulink tool chain.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability and experience working in a self-directed mode.
  • Strong, demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Experience with CAN communications protocol and the J1939 standard.

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems in an automotive or agricultural setting.
  • Technical skills and knowledge in portable electronic design, communication bus interfaces, GPS systems, wireless communications, and mobile application development.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% (both domestic and internationally)Prioritize qualification requirements from most important to least. Start each bullet with time reference (3 or more years of experience) and key words of experiences.


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.
