Title: Data Analyst 
Primary Location: Mexico (MX) - Nuevo León JD Shared Svcs-Monterrey 
Function: Product Engineering

Main Responsibilities:

As a part of John Deere’s Enterprise Technology and Innovation Center, you will work in a cross functional team supporting John Deere Power Systems (Engines). You will efficiently retrieve internal and external data and ensure that source data is accurate, meaningful and valid for use in analytics and reporting. Will perform analysis and identify automation opportunities to create standard reports and identify data quality issues, as well as updating existing dashboards.

 

    • Locates and acquires data from existing data locations as needed to support analytics and reporting.
    • Organizes and cleans acquired data to remove quality issues and provides relevant information which may include developing samples used to create analytics models or reports.
    • Performs analysis to address data quality issues and identifies automation opportunities in order to create standardized reports.
    • Supports the effort to closing data quality gaps by identifying areas that need to be changed and escalating as appropriate.
    • Participates in creating analytics models by applying data knowledge throughout the modeling process to ensure the data is valid, accurate, and applicable for the intended usage.

What Skills You Need:

      • One or more years of experience in data science or a related field
      • Knowledge of statistical analysis.
      • Knowledge of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques.
      • Knowledge in at least one statistical programming language; R, Python, SQL or similar.
      • Skill in interpersonal communications and ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical audiences
      • Ability to independently solve problems, think critically, and generate conclusions/solutions from multiple data sources.
      • Fluent in English

What Makes You Stand Out:

      • Experience with a business intelligence visualization tool (e.g. Tableau/Power BI)
      • Demonstrate the development of algorithms and predictive models to solve business issues
      • Experience working with data, database design, administration and performance

Education (or equivalent experience):

Bachelor degree in statistics, data science, engineering, computer science, mathematics or equivalent.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business days and unposted when a qualified pool of candidates is achieved.
