Main Responsibilities

As an Embedded Software Engineer for John Deere Enterprise Technology Engineering Center (ETEC) – Mexico, you will be an integral part of a software development team and collaborate with other developers, testers and stakeholders to provide diagnostics strategy, workflow and an optimized and validated software solution.

This person will support the development and maintenance of the Diagnostics infrastructure team working on a daily basis with different protocols such as UDS and CAN, J1939.

Team members will have the opportunity to spend time understanding requirements, apply system development methodology to identify, analyze, design, build, configure, test, and deploy highly integrated complex solutions.

What Skills You Need

  • 2-3 years of experience designing, developing and testing desktop or other software using C/C++ and or C#.
  • Experience on Object Oriented Programming and design patterns.
  • Experience on CAN and UDS protocols. 
  • Knowledge on system requirements or software architecture.
  • Microcontroller systems (e.g., A/D converters, watchdog timers, memory organization, interrupt or trap functions).
  • Development and debugging tools (e.g., source level debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English)

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience on PREEvision, CANdela and CANape.
  • knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology.
  • Experience with version control as GitHub.
  • Effective communication skills in English for highly technical conversations.
