Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Primary Location: Mexico (MX)

Function: Product Engineering

Main Responsibilities:

  • This position will work on design and development of drive train components & sub systems like gear train, clutch system, brake system, differential & axle.
  • Bearing selection, shaft strength calculations, spline calculations & Seal selection for the drive train as per applications. 
  • Working with large assemblies in Creo & Tolerance stack up analysis for Creo assemblies. 
  • Co-ordinate with various cross functional teams (verification, validation, manufacturing , assembly, supply management) to ensure that design meets the requirements.
  • Participate in Design & Geometric Dimensioning & tolerance Reviews, Functional Group Review & Design Process Assembly Review, Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis. 
  • Develop innovative & cost effective solutions for design problems. Deliver designs of highest quality maintaining timeline set by project team.

What Skills You Need:

  • Good understanding and experience in design of drivetrain component.
  • Good knowledge about various drivetrain subsystem for off/on highway vehicles.
  • Awareness of the product development process.
  • Knowledge in fundamental engineering principles and manufacturing methods.
  • Skilled user of Creo Modelling, Drafting, large assembly management and PDM Windchill.
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Fundamental understanding of Drivetrain system level. 
  • Knowledge in Drivetrain Assembly Processes, Verification and Validation. 
  • Awareness to 6 sigma tools and technology is an added advantage.

Education (or equivalent experience):

Degree in Mechanical / Automotive engineering or equivalent.
