Your Responsibilities


As a Senior Tax Analyst for John Deere located in Grimsby, Ontario, you will be a key member of the Canadian Tax Team.  This compliance role will be primarily responsible for the timely preparation and analysis of all income tax filings and tax provision entries for the Canadian subsidiaries of Deere and Company.  In addition, you will:

  • Prepare corporate income tax returns, working with the various accounting departments to ensure accurate submissions of the requisite supporting documents with a clear audit trail.
  • Coordinate the transfer pricing reporting process, reviewing submissions to ensure complete and accurate reporting, preparing the Canadian tax schedules and transfer pricing reports, and updating intercompany agreements.
  • Contribute to the audit process, overseeing the sourcing of requested documentation from various departments, and preparing detailed responses to auditors.
  • Review and/or prepare the tax provision entries and forecasts for current and deferred taxes.
  • Research and document tax issues.
  • Prepare a variety of other regulatory reports and remittances.
  • Participate in project work to support system changes, business needs and process improvements with a focus on automation.

What Skills You Need


  • Five to six years of accounting or finance experience including work in large corporations         

  • Possess the financial acumen to assimilate information, identify issues, and develop and implement solutions         

  • Strong Excel skills                                                                                                                

  • Exceptional organizational skills                                                                                      

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including business writing and presentation skills   

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Three to five years of experience with tax reporting                    

  • Familiarity with online tax research tools and tax compliance software        

  • Highly proficient with technology, including data extraction tools



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • Professional accounting designation required (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA)
