Function: Supply Management / Logistics
Title: Logistics Part Time Student - Grovetown, GA - 49329

Your Responsibilities

  • Analyzes parts inventory reports to determine if they ensure accuracy and to establish and maintain lists for required parts for current and new production, non-production and service parts.
  • Performs logistical analysis on new or re-sourced parts to determine a replenishment strategy balancing inventory and transportation costs.
  • Monitors and resolves parts inventory discrepancies causes, i.e. shortages, over shipments, damages. Includes recommending solutions in order to avoid repetitiveness.
  • Provides guidance and support to suppliers, planners and other personnel regarding replenishment strategies and forecast requirements for existing and new parts.
  • Monitors and adjusts the replenishment strategy for existing or new parts to accommodate changes in requirements and inventory levels.
  • Acts as liaison between manufacturing, sourcing factories, product engineering, marketing, parts distribution centers and/or suppliers to ensure that service parts are available when needed to support new programs and products changed by decision globally.
  • Develops and participates in inventory related continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.

What It Takes

  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions.
  • Working knowledge of the appropriate operating and information systems. 
  • Knowledge of parts distribution systems and parts terminology. 
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of unit processes and operations.
  • Understanding of sales and operations planning process, statistical demand forecasting, and integration of demand plans and related supply plans.
  • Pursuing a four-year degree in Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, or Supply Management discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
  • Graduation date of May 2020 or later 
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

  • Experience in using Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and other Microsoft tools.
  • Experience working in one or more operations support functions such as warehousing, logistics, etc.
  • Experience in specific areas of Supply Management such as: supplier integration, strategic supply management, supplier development, module supply management, scheduling, forecasting, logistics, etc. 
  • Logistics work experience in such areas as warehousing, materials management, transportation, broker, forwarder, etc.
