Your Responsibilities

 

As a Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Augusta Works located in Grovetown, GA you will provide Manufacturing Engineering leadership for the 3rd shift 4000 Factory Operations. In addition, you will:

 

  • Provide leadership for shop floor CI teams in completion of CI projects that target Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Efficiency improvements
  • Provides leadership in manufacturing support and troubleshooting of production equipment to support production and manufacturing. Responds to critical production situations affecting manufacturing.
  • Supports new product programs by providing input on design for manufacturability and providing budgetary estimates for tooling costs for Authority for Expenditures (AFEs).
  • Identifies more efficient processes for parts manufacturing in order to reduce cost and lead times and implements cost reduction and quality improvement ideas through internal and/or external sources.
  • Provides project management of projects limited in scope and complexity related to the manufacturing assembly.
  • Conducts analysis of manufacturing process, methods, layout, documentation, equipment, and tools specifications, as well as quality plans to support the production process and increase productivity.

What Skills You Need

 

  • Working knowledge with the following software programs: Wplanner, MPP, Creo, SAP, JDAAT, AutoCad
  • A solid work ethic with strong relationship building skills and the ability to interact within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance, and facilities.
  • Knowledge of industry standards relating to engineering, manufacturing and/or quality.
  • Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Ability to use advanced Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Understands the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).
  • Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools.  

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • 2 or more years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment
  • 2 or more years of experience with shop floor manufacturing
  • 3 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases
  • 1 or more years of tooling design experience

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Engineering Technology discipline
