Function: Product Engineering
Title: Sr. Product Engineer, Data Analytics - 77520 

 

This position may be located in  Augusta, GA; Horicon, WI; Fuquay, NC; or Cary, NC  per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.

 

This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Data Analytics Engineer for John Deere Turf and Compact Utility located in any of these locations: Augusta, GA; Horicon, WI; Fuquay, NC; or Cary, NC; you will:

 

  • Lead the investigation and utilization of machine telematics data to provide insights of machine operation of Turf and Utility products to engineering teams.
  • Lead product verification and validation (PV&V) analytics projects utilizing engineering collected and developed data.
  • Primary contact for engineering requests for the development of customer machine use data, reports, and visualizations.
  • Lead role in developing training programs for data analytics to the engineering team.
  • Prepare and facilitate regular communications to various team members & business stakeholders

What Skills You Need

 

  • 4 or more years of EPDP/EPDM or Product Engineering knowledge
  • 3 or more years of data acquisition and analysis experience using tools such as:  National Instruments, eDAQs, nCode, or Matlab, etc
  • 3 or more years of experience with machine telematics systems, including hardware and software configurations.
  • 1 or more years of experience in data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and big data platforms (e.g. AWS, DataBricks)
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Demonstrated experience with Turf, Utility, or Compact Utility Tractors
  • Work experience in data science or a related field
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (e.g. R, Python, SQL)
  • Good understanding of creating and maintaining datasets that enable analytics
  • Knowledge of User Experience (UX) and/or design

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Ag, etc.) or equivalent experience.
