Your Responsibilities

 

As an Operations Accounting Analyst for John Deere Horicon Works located in Horicon, WI, you will….

 

  • Examine factory overhead spending, analyze actual versus forecast, create budget reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), & counsel budget owners and factory leadership.
  • Be responsible for overhead and variance accounts during monthly financial closing, assuring ledger is accurate and prepare monthly forecast analysis & submission.
  • Through deep analysis, drive cost reduction initiatives and provide business counseling and prepare overhead structure lines.
  • Work on ad hoc special projects related to factory spending, complete make v buy analyses, authorization for leasing packages, support capital expenditures through DCF analysis, and support annual standard costing reviews.
  • Support internal control testing and a strong internal control environment.

What Skills You Need

 

  • Understanding of key financial concepts such as budgets, forecasts, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or equivalent, having a good understanding of the principles and ability to independently use the knowledge
  • Spreadsheet proficiency with strong experience with Microsoft Office tools, mainly Excel
  • Capable of working directly with high level managers, independent and self-driven
  • Good communicator, capable of translating numbers into something simple that non-finance stakeholders can relate to and act upon
  • Detail oriented, analytical, data driven, adaptable
  • Intellectual curiosity and a positive attitude, always excited about learning new things and tackling new challenges
  • Collaborate across units & functions

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Experience with SAP FICO Module
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes and product cost controls
  • Financial certifications: CPA, CMA, CGMA
  • Demonstrated experiences of influencing without authority
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing Internal Control and Audit processes

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
