Your Responsibilities

As Software Engineer at John Deere Financial in Johnston, IA, you will work on a product team and support product design by planning its work, coordinating with others, and writing and testing code to deliver moderately complex functionality. Primary responsibilities of this role include:  

  • Develops, configures, codes, and tests programs and systems.
  • Evaluates and implements enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications.
  • Determines software specifications that must be fulfilled to achieve objectives.
  • Collaborates with team members and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Follows agile software design methodology.
  • Implement and integrate with vendor provided software applications.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience – Software Engineering in Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, ABAP or Pega
  • 2 or more years of experience Web Services development
  • 2 or more years of experience - Relational or NoSQL databases
  • 2 or more years of experience - Authentication and Authorization schemes
  • 1 or more years of experience - Automated testing or TDD practices in day to day development

What Makes You Stand Out

  • DevOps including CI/CD
  • Cloud experience with AWS
  • Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Proven experience working in a team environment

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Technology discipline
