The European Technology Innovation Center (ETIC) of John Deere is part of a global R&D network in Kaiserslautern. Its focus is on the research on and development of future trends and technologies in the area of mobile agricultural and construction machines in close collaboration with diverse research institutes.

 

The European Technology Innovation Center is looking for smart and creative talents who want to write a Bachelor/Master Thesis with the starting date in July/ August in the area of

 

Viticulture Grape Yield Documentation based on Precision Ag Technology

 

You can look forward to these tasks:

 

  • Familiarization with existing solutions (yield documentation & operations center)
  • Close cooperation with the customer and the dealer
  • Work scheduling using the JD Operations Center
  • Support the driver with the system operation on site during the grape harvest
  • Monitoring and ensuring data collection
  • Evaluation of the recorded data (completeness, accuracy, etc.)
  • Creation of concepts and solutions for data use (“Production System Grapes”)
  • Recording of additional requirements for further solutions (sugar content measurement, etc.)
  • Market and literature research of existing systems
  • Documentation of the work
  • Presentation of the results

 

The skills you need:

 

  • Student (f/m/d) in the field of viticulture & oenology, agricultural technology, mechatronics, automation technology, or a comparable course of study as part of a university degree with current enrollment
  • Experience in viticulture / oenology
  • Experience in the field of ​​PC application
  • Good basic technical understanding
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written German and English is an advantage
  • Agricultural experience is an advantage
  • Driving license class B is required
