The Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) of John Deere in Kaiserslautern develops future trends and technologies in the area of mobile agricultural and construction machinery in cooperation with different research centers. In addition, ISG develops and sells products and services in the area of precision farming using global satellite based navigation systems (GNSS), automated steering systems, machine automation, sensor technologies, telematic system solutions, web applications as well as apps for mobile devices to optimize farming processes and to support decision making.

 

 

The John Deere Team in Kaiserslautern is offering a

Internship, Bachelor or Master thesis - Engineering and Tech Integration (m/f/d)

Starting in October 2022

 

 

You can look forward to these tasks:

  • Develop dynamic plant models and control strategies for highly automated machinery
  • Coordinate data collection and machine tests
  • Setup prototype systems
  • Participate in field tests
  • Analyze measurement data, define metrics, and evaluate system performance
  • Gain insights in the functionality of modern hay and forage equipment

 

The skills you need:

  • Studies in the field of mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Experience in dynamic plant modeling for mechanical multi-body and hydraulic systems
  • Solid knowledge in controls engineering and system identification techniques
  • Good overview on sensing technologies and working principles
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • Knowledge in agriculture and driver license class T advantageous
