You Responsibilities


As an Attorney for John Deere located in Moline, Illinois, you will provide research, counsel, recommendations, and alternatives on legal questions and issues related to 1) occupational safety and health matters, including, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and workers’ compensation issues, 2) environmental and safety-related provisions of contracts and real estate documents, and 3) environmental matters related to Deere’s suppliers.  In addition, you will:

  • Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents, including opinions, contracts, policies, and standards
  • Review materials for compliance with applicable laws and stay current on emerging trends impacting your areas of responsibility
  • Collaborate with business partners, Law Department colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide leadership, expertise, and solutions to the business

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience in the practice of law in a private law firm or corporate law department
  • 3 or more years of experience counseling clients on regulatory matters 
  • 3 or more years of experience performing legal research on regulatory issues and assessing applicability of regulatory requirements and risk in various circumstances 
  • 3 or more years of experience in transactional work, such as contract or real estate matters, occupational safety/health, or workers’ compensation 

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience counseling business clients on OSHA-related or workers’ compensation matters 
  • Experience in litigation and/or employment law issues 
  • Experience in environmental issues 
  • Outstanding presentation and written communication skills 


  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
