Your Responsibilities

As an Automation and Autonomy (A&A) Software Development Engineer in Urbandale, IA, you join our team building world class software solutions to develop and test our Automation and Autonomy tech stack (A&A) solutions.  We are looking for someone with expertise in embedded C++ software development including integration of perception sensor technology. 

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)

  • Experience with software product development through practical work experiences, relevant internships or academic experience 
  • Experience working with C++ or other Object-oriented languages 
  • Experiences that required demonstration of excellent communication skills 

What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)

  • Experience and expertise with C++ (including modern C++ syntax, patterns, practices) 
  • Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, etc.) 
  • Experience developing Linux software applications 
  • Experience or training with multi-threaded systems 
  • Experience using Qt, OpenGL, SQL, or GIS software libraries 
  • Experience with Agile software development processes 
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and software test automation 
  • Experience with UDP, TCP/IP, CAN networking communication protocols 
  • Experience with Computer Vision Machine Learning software development 


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree in a related technology field or discipline.
