Your Responsibilities

 

As an Electrification Architect- Drivetrain for John Deere Electric Powertrain in Moline, IL, you will…

 

  • Act as electric drivetrain expert for John Deere Electric Powertrain
  • Define common electric drivetrain architectures that best serve the various electric drive system architectures (battery-electric, engine-electric, hybrid, etc.)
  • Work with module teams to define standardized components that can be reused across vehicle programs for various drivetrain architectures
  • Understand customer and vehicle needs related to traction, derive requirements, and develop technical solutions that balance eMachine, gearbox, inverter, cooling, and overall vehicle needs into optimized solutions

What Skills You Need

 

  • 6 or more years of product engineering experience
  • 4 or more years of drivetrain/traction system engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of eMachines (electric machines, motors or generators)

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Demonstrated experience with nuances of electric drivetrain (form factor, cooling, reflected inertia implications, torque ripple implications, circulating currents, etc.)
  • Experience with deploying systems across multiple vehicles/product lines
  • Detailed familiarity with at least one Deere product line
  • Familiarity with additional electric drive system components and their impact on drivetrain performance (e.g. inverters, batteries, connectors/cables)

Education

 

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
