Onsite/Remote: Partial Remote Position 

 

 

This position may be located in Des Moines, IA; Moline, IL; or Chicago, IL, per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.

 

This position is eligible for a flexible/compressed or telework work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Manager, Sustainability Reporting for John Deere, you will…

 

  • Lead the strategy for John Deere’s sustainability reporting, including development of key narrative around Deere’s sustainability impact, and managing the company’s disclosures in accordance with  Environmental Social Governance (ESG) reporting standards and frameworks
  • Work with a cross-functional team of subject matter experts to develop and incorporate technical content and metrics into Deere’s sustainability reporting and ensure robust internal controls around data management
  • Continuously monitor ESG and sustainability reporting developments, including industry standards and global regulations that may affect the Company and adapt the company's reporting as appropriate
  • Manage ESG ranker/rater submissions, scoring and follow-up as required

What Skills You Need

 

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the field of sustainability, including expertise in key frameworks and standards, such as SASB, TCFD, SBTi, GHG Protocol and CDP
  • Knowledge of ESG ratings/rankings such as MSCI, Sustainalytics, and Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • 3 or more years of experience in project management, demonstrating ability to develop and implement a strategy within a large organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work across a broad set of stakeholders and influence without direct authority to drive for outcomes
  • Strategic communication skills that enable translation of technical topics into messages that resonate with multiple audiences
  • Strong analytical and technical skills demonstrating an attention to detail
  • Experience with internal controls to enable robust internal processes around data and metrics collection

 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Accounting, Engineering or other technical area preferred
