Title: Network/Python Engineer - 79071 

Onsite/Remote: Partial Remote Position 

Your Responsibilities

  • Contribute high value toward the continuous improvement of network performance, striving for high customer satisfaction
  • Provide expertise in network assurance and network monitoring
  • Resolve complex network performance incidents, collaborating as needed with applications teams and other infrastructure product teams.
  • Own and Support network assurance platforms like Netscout nGeniusOne and networking monitoring systems like NMIS and Netscout Pulse
  • Continuously improve reliability for network assurance platforms and monitoring systems (proactively configure, patch, upgrade, repair, and integrate tools).
  • Utilize and advance your existing coding skills, working on integration and automation projects (for example, write Python code to create smarter more actionable alerts or to integrated systems)
  • Write Python code and utilize APIs to collect device data, presenting that data to provide clear insights
  • Run automated configuration audits, using existing automation software code or by enhancing the program code, to track compliance with network and security standards
  • Be an avid consumer of your products to ensure you understand your customer’s experience
  • Deliver a great experience for customers who use your network management and network assurance platforms, ensuring that great network management is simpler, providing higher value
  • Evaluate and test new network assurance and network monitoring technologies/products

What Skills You Need

  • 4+ years of IT experience
  • 2+ years of proven experience successfully implementing and supporting IT networks (both LAN and WAN)
  • 2+ years of experience supporting network management or network assurance systems. Specifically, 2+ years total experience among the following: Solarwinds, Netscout nGeniusOne, Netscout Pulse, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA center, Thousand Eyes, and/or Gigavue.
  • 1+ years of network performance trouble-shooting, including deep packet analysis
  • 1+ years successfully resolving high complexity incidents involving IT networks
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting languages and programming languages (you must be able to show you have written programming code – for example showing that you have written Perl, shell scripts, or Python code to automate admin tasks or integrate systems)
  • Demonstrated excellence in problem solving and analyzing data to find and provide insights

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 7+ years of IT experience
  • 4+ years total of experience supporting network management, and network monitoring tools (the 3+ years should be with 2 or more of the following Netscout nGeniusOne, Cisco Thousand Eyes, Prime, DNA Center, or Gigavue)
  • 2+ years of experience with deep packet analysis
  • 1+ years of documenting standards
  • 1+ years of experience working as a team member within a Kanban and/or Scrum team
  • 1+ years of experience with ServiceNow, ITIL and LEAN service management
  • Strong experience configuring Cisco routers or SilverPeak SDWAN routers.
  • Advanced level understanding of routing and switching protocols
  • Strong understanding of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, especially OSI layers 2 through 6.
  • CCNA or other IT networking related certification
  • Master’s degree in STEM is a plus


  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related career field
