Your Responsibilities


As a Senior Industrial Hygienist for Deere and Company located in Moline, IL, you will manage John Deere's Industrial Hygiene programs for compliance with governmental regulations, appropriate standards, and other recognized consensus organizations. In addition, you will:

  • Plan and direct industrial hygiene surveys, investigations, and hazard assessments to evaluate risk and determine/recommend any changes in policies or procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Plan, develop, communicate, administer, and evaluate policies, procedures, and activities to control occupational health risks and maintain compliance with applicable regulatory or recognized consensus organizations.
  • Review and interpret regulatory standards and respond to inquiries related to regulatory standards from John Deere Units.
  • Evaluate new or revised equipment, processes, protective equipment, materials, or process changes to ensure compliance, and control health risk and/or loss.

What Skills You Need

  • 5 or more years of experience in Industrial Hygiene responsibilities in a manufacturing or consulting environment
  • Chemical, physical, and biological agent hazard assessment skills
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health principles, methods, and processes
  • Possess ability to use industrial hygiene instrumentation and software to complete exposure assessments
  • Understanding of various manufacturing operations (such as welding, chrome plating, spray painting, CNC machining) and engineering principles to evaluate process design of processes/applications (such as industrial ventilation, noise, process enclosures, HVAC systems)
  • Knowledge of US governmental occupational health-related regulatory requirements
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or Industrial Hygiene
