Onsite/Remote: Partial Remote Position 

 

This position may be located in Moline, IL; Cary, NC; Mannheim, Germany; or other John Deere location per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.

 

This position is eligible for a flexible or telework work schedule arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Senior Staff Electrification Systems Engineer for John Deere Electric Powertrain, you will…

 

  • Act as subject matter expert for system engineering, including system engineering tools/processes, as well as requirements development and management tools/processes
  • Execute electrification architecture development process (EL ADP), including identifying electrification opportunities, defining requirements, concept development and detailing, business case evaluation, both virtual and physical verification and validation, and documentation and transfer to product delivery process (EPDP) kickoff
  • Interface with production system, marketing, vehicle engineering, EL application, and EL module teams for ADP execution
  • Act as technical expert for electrification standard development (e.g. offboarding, safety)

What Skills You need

 

  • 8 or more years product engineering experience
  • 4 or more years electric drive system experience
  • 2 or more years systems engineering experience
  • Experience leading engineering teams
  • Experience solving complex and open-ended engineering system problems

 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Formal systems engineering training
  • Formal requirements authoring training & experience
  • Detailed familiarity with at least one Deere product line
  • Detailed familiarity with at least one electrification module
  • Experience with standards development

 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
