Your Responsibilities


As a Software Engineer for the Quote product team within the Order Management program at John Deere located in Moline, IL or Chicago, IL, you will;

  • Develop, code, configure, and test programs and systems
  • Evaluate and implement enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications
  • Analyze assignments and determine software specifications that must be fulfilled to achieve objectives
  • Collaborate with other relevant stakeholders and team members to ensure that features meet business needs
  • Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation
  • Mentor junior software engineers within the team and across multiple products
  • Lead engineering practices alongside engineering manager


What Skills You Need


  • 5+ Years of experience with JavaScript development utilizing REACT, Redux, HTML and CSS
  • 5+ Years of experience with Java web development with Spring and RESTful APIs
  • 5+ Years of experience with TDD and acceptance test-driven development utilizing J-Unit, Cucumber, Jest, Puppeteer, Enzyme, etc.
  • 3+ Years of experience Varied database experience (e.g., MongoDB, DB2)
  • 3+ Years of experience with DevOps principles and lean development such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub, Jenkins, Active Control etc.)
  • Deep understanding of the design, development, testing and integration of highly complex software solutions
  • Deep understanding with application development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints
  • Working understanding of design patterns and loosely coupled architectures


What Makes You Stand Out


  • 2+ Years of experience in cloud development with platforms like AWS (preferred), or similar (Azure, PCF)
  • Corporate development exposure to GraphQL
  • Corporate development exposure configuring, implementing, and utilizing system execution/quality monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Grafana, SonarQube, etc.
  • Strong desire to learn and develop skills in new technologies
  • Experience working with John Deere dealers and sales quoting software




Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering
