Your Responsibilities

As a Staff Software Engineer for the Agile Operating Model Tools Team located in Chicago or Moline, IL, you will….
•    Develop, code, configure, and test programs and systems. Metrics App (React; TypeScript); Jira, Mural, TeamRetro, and Agile OKR tools.
•    Evaluates and implements enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications.
•    Analyzes assignments and determines software specifications that must be fulfilled to achieve objectives.
•    Collaborates with other relevant stakeholders and team members to ensure that features meet business needs.
•    Follows industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation.

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)

  •     Ability to advocate for Agile best practices including Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, Clean Code practices, Scrum methodologies
  •     Ability to analyze, translate, and define business requirements into technical solutions. - Has an expert understanding of principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners.
  •     Ability to apply software engineering principles and concepts for designs. - Has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners.
  •     Excellence in verbal and written communication forms with emphasis on persuasive communication, tact and negotiation. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
  •     Ability to manage many competing priorities/requests in a fast-paced environment - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
  •     5+ years of experience hands-on design and development in React, TypeScript, Node.JS
  •     3+ years of experience hands-on experience implementing, testing, and supporting RESTful APIs
  •     3+ years of experience hands-on experience implementing, testing, and supporting cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines
  •     3+ years of experience Agile Development Methodologies

What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)

•    Fluency in client/server communication patterns
•    Expertise in architecting, building, and deployment of scalable and engaging web interfaces
•    Expertise in debugging UI issues and performance optimization geared towards user experience 

Education

  • Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: 
    •    Degree in a Software Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
    •    Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
