As a User Experience Designer for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will join the Global IT User Experience team in delivering a successful Fuel Design System product. You will work closely with product teams and other UX designers to produce reusable design components, standards, guidelines, and patterns to be leveraged by the organization.  As a UX Designer you will be multi-disciplined and will:

 

  • Leverage strategic relationships and quantitative/qualitative insights to deliver design standards, guidelines and components.
  • Design, present and validate design system component options.
  • Establish and expand current design patterns and page layouts.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate designs, and pressure test standards on real world experiences.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing leveraging a variety of quantitative and qualitative techniques.
  • Organize and conduct design workshops with a wide range of stakeholders to creatively address problems and drive quick decisions and actionable next steps.  

What Skills You Need

  • 3+ years of experience as a UX Designer or equivalent role.
  • Experience leveraging or contributing to a Design system.
  • Proficiency with design and rapid-prototyping tools, such as: Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, InVision, Adobe XD, Mural, etc.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to lead demos, design discussions, workshops, and research.
  • Experience writing concise content, design guidelines, and standards.
  • A portfolio highlighting design experience with web applications, complex interfaces and/or mobile applications.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and working with a variety of leadership levels.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 3 or more years of experience influencing stakeholders to drive an intentional design philosophy.
  • Experience building a comprehensive design system.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with capturing analytics and identifying insights.
  • Experience with accessibility design and guidelines.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Bootstrap, etc.
  • Experience with responsive design and/or phone and tablet interface design

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

 

  • BS/BA Required (Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Usability, Graphic Arts, Digital Design, Industrial Design, Marketing, Human Factors)
