Title: Part-Time Student-IT-Olathe KS - 70002 


The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.


Your Responsibilities


  • As an IT Part-Time Student within the Olathe Ag Marketing Center at John Deere, you will be provided with opportunities to develop an understanding of John Deere products, services and processes, and establish a diverse network of people to support personal and professional growth
  • Learn how to identify, analyze and apply information technology and business practices to support strategic business process/plans
  • Maintaining a professional and consistent in-person and virtual conferencing experience for the unit  
  • Deploying, testing, and demonstrating technology, including virtual meeting tools such as Microsoft Teams, WebEx, ON24, and more 
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem solving of IT tools and resources, including supplier consultation  
  • Developing end-user documentation and communications for existing and new technology at the unit  
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks and testing for 50+ conference rooms, including asset management and continuous improvement of our conference rooms  


What Skills You Need


  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
  • Graduation date of May 2022 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester


What Makes You Stand Out


  • Demonstrated experience using virtual meeting technologies, such as Microsoft Teams
  • Basic understanding of IT solutions, including network and desktop computing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience using and/or supporting AV and conference room equipment (projectors, monitors, sound systems)
  • Understanding of various functions within respective business
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
