Your Responsibilities

 

As a OFP Weld Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, IA, you will:

 

  • Provides support and troubleshooting for current operations. 
  • Create and maintain welding robots.
  • Investigates, gathers and analyze data and implement solutions. 
  • Product knowledge expert for Mower Conditioner in Welding. 
  • Responsible for making major capital improvements, jig and fixture design changes, and programming improvements. 
  • Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of moderate scope. 
  • Leads analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Support capacity planning and productivity improvement activities in weld department.

What Skills You Need

 

  • Ability to work flexible hours 
  • 3 or more years of experience programming welding robot cells 
  • 2 or more years of experience using Creo or similar software 
  • 3 or more years of experience with designing and improving weld tooling and fixturing
  • 2 or more years of experience with material flow and cell layouts 
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a team environment 
  • 1 or more years of experience working with capital equipment procurement 
  • 1 or more year experience working with labor standards 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Experience with robotic weld integrators 
  • Strong experience in Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Experience with weld process tracking systems
  • PLC experience 
  • Experience with SAP 
  • Experience with MPPlanner 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering/Technology
  • Equivalent work experience
