Your Responsibilities

 

As a Digital Design Staff Engineer, for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Torrance, California, you will….

  • Specify, design, develop, test and document advanced electronic products, including architecture and circuit-level design of embedded hardware and automotive power supplies.
  • Lead in the solution of division-wide complex problems or projects. Act as product engineering technical advisor.
  • Perform failure analysis and lead in resolution of difficult technical issues, within the company and with outside suppliers.
  • Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of industry trends and technical innovations in your technical discipline.
  • Provide Community of Practice (CoP) leadership that fosters the development and adaptation of common engineering processes and tools to improve and leverage the individual and organizational performance of the engineering function

 

What Skills You Need

 

  • 5+ years of experience applying technical skill and knowledge in digital electronic technology: circuit design, analysis, test & evaluation.
  • Deep and broad understanding of high-speed digital electronics technology and embedded hardware design.
  • Experience comparing microprocessor architectures, designing with, and configuring memory and I/O interfaces, high-speed digital design and layout, and EMI mitigation.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.

 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Knowledge of GNSS receiver technology, such as global positioning systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of switching regulator design and Low-frequency analog design.
  • Proficiency with time/frequency-domain simulation tools.
  • Experience in designing and supporting high production volume products.
  • Knowledge of the Enterprise Product Development Processes (EPDP).
  • Previous Ag or Automotive manufacturing experience.

 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
