Your Responsibilities

 

As Dynamic Systems Modeling (DSM) Engineer for ISG Crop Care located in Urbandale, IA or Austin, TX, you will collaborate with DSM analysts throughout the enterprise to drive accuracy and efficiency into our workflows with a focus on the right model with the right fidelity at the right time. This position will collaborate within ISG (developers, control systems engineers, system engineers, and verification champions), the product families (DSM analysts), and enterprise development resources to develop and apply workflows for integration of control models into product family virtual prototypes.  This position will drive a simulation-based product development culture, integrating MIL analysis into development processes, by developing and correlating simulation test cases for exercising multiple features simultaneously within a production step against feature and product requirements.  This position will work with the development teams to deploy and exercise these models from early concept development through production leveraging continuous integration environments for automation.  In addition you will: 

 

  • Developing, correlating, and maintaining integration MIL models (multi-fidelity) and simulation develop environment with test cases for test driven development of embedded control systems at multiple system layers within product family virtual prototype environments in collaboration with product family DSM engineers
  • Collaborating with embedded developers, control systems engineers, system engineering and verification champions to map feature level performance requirements to simulations to predict field performance expectations throughout the development process
  • Develop and advance DSM tooling and capabilities for reporting, customer utilization and configuration coverage, and stochastic verification leveraging continuous integration
  • Provide input and leadership into the Enterprise MIL long term vision
  • Contribute to enterprise wide activities and strategies related to DSM & analysis
  • Contribute to the development and simulation of engineering verification procedures (EVP's) providing early predictive results to SE and VC team members
  • Provide technical support for user community of DSM models and workflow

What Skills You Need

 

  • Experience using Matlab/Simulink/SimScape for simulation of mechatronic systems
  • Experience in simulation with focus on physical systems, controls, and correlation

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and drive a simulation based controls development culture
  • Experience using DSM Workflow 2.0
  • Experience applying dynamic simulation in embedded development workflows

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline is required. A Master of Science degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred.
