Title: Electronic Systems Engineer - 49242

Your Responsibilities

As an Electronic System Engineer, for the John Deere Product Engineering Center (Waterloo), you will be dedicated to the electronics for the Operator Station to meet the goal of scalable modular architecture.  In addition, you will:

  • Being the main electrical point of contact for OSIP design engineers
  • Collaborating with GTEE subsystem engineers to understand their requirements for specific operator station components
  • Communicating Electrical specific requirements for operator station components to the OSIP and sensor/hardware design groups
  • Analyzing designs to ensure they meet electrical, functional and safety requirements for the various electrical subsystems
  • Representing GTEE in design reviews of operator station components and subsystems
  • Ensuring commonality of components/interfaces for the multiple operator station variants
  • Analyzing current production/experimental issues, develop an understanding of the root cause and create appropriate action plans to resolve these issues
  • Provide technical support during system field-testing activities on an as needed basis

What Skills You Need

  • Experience in the field of mechatronics, including a solid understanding of electrical & electronics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
  • Technical skill and knowledge in systems engineering
  • Experience in subsystem design, software development, and electrical circuit design
  • Experience with electrical hardware and sensor design
  • Experience with electrical system tolerance stack up
  • Technical experience on cross functional team(s) that delivered a feature or product to production
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements engineering (gathering, writing and reviewing)
  • Demonstrated experience solving complex technical issues for off-road vehicles  

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
  • Experience working with Agricultural / vehicle applications
  • Experience in Product Engineering
  • Understanding of John Deere competitors

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
