Title: Engine Performance Analyst-MBC - 51046

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Engine Performance Analyst – Model Based Controls (MBC) working for John Deere Power Systems, located in Waterloo, IA you will be responsible for developing and applying simulation tools and expertise to aid in the design, development and integration of diesel engines. This will be accomplished through:

  • Generation, refinement and maintenance of requirements for real-time and faster engine and sub-system plant models by interaction with stakeholders in relevant functional areas
  • Development of robust methodologies, tools and processes for creating real-time and faster plant models that are in alignment with the model architecture
  • Support of plant models for use in XiL (e.g. HIL) activities and other areas of engine controls development
  • Creation of engineering workflows using the real-time and faster plant models to develop new capabilities which support the product development process; interface with various functional areas such as Embedded Controls teams
  • Integration of plant models with other simulation modules that enables model based software development

What Skills You Need

  • 5 or more years of product engineering experience
  • 5 or more years' experience working with commercial modeling and simulation tools such as: GT-Suite, Matlab\Simulink, or similar tools
  • Experience in the development and calibration of engines and/or controls systems
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify innovative and creative solutions to complex problems

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Master's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with diesel engine controls development
  • Experience with HiL, SiL, MiL
  • Systems Engineering experience
  • Experience in physics-based model development and calibration
  • Exposure to AUTOSAR software

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
