Your Position:

Your Responsibilities

As Product Engineer for our Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will….

  • Develop and test high quality software features in C for John Deere Operator Station embedded controllers within the operator controls subsystem
  • Lead investigations of embedded software issues to find true root cause and provide sustainable software solutions
  • Collaborate with system engineers and software architects to help define feature requirements and system designs
  • Pair with individuals on an Agile scrum team to develop software features using a world class design process and tool chain

What Skills you Need

  • 2 or more years of professional or academic experience in embedded software product development with C/C++ programming
  • Experience with Model Based Software Development (MBSD) using Matlab/Simulink
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting embedded software issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability and willingness to work in a diverse team environment, helping others on the team succeed

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Test driven development and MBSD simulation experience or knowledge
  • Experience with CAN and LIN communication protocols
  • Experience with embedded software continuous integration practices and tools
  • Ability to work with cross functional stakeholders (electrical, mechanicalhydraulic product design, marketing, etc) to understand customer requirements and how those can be translated into software requirements and implementations
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and willingness to keep growing skills to contribute to an evolving team
  • Focus and passion for developing innovative technical solutions to solve customer problems
  • Background with John Deere products, farming practices and/or farm equipment operation

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
