Function: Manufacturing Engineering
Title: Part-Time Student-Manufacturing Engineering-Waterloo IA - 73301 

 

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Identifies and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope
  • Works with electronic tools to perform engineering functions
  • Provides support and basic trouble shooting for current operations in multiple departments
  • Develops plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing
  • Assists in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans
  • Produces a variety of correspondence and reports in support of department processes

 

What Skills You Need

 

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Technology or similar; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
  • Graduation date of May 2023 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work 16-20 hours per week during the academic year
  • Available to work 35-40 hours per week during the summer semester
  • Must be able to commute to the work location for all work hours

 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with data visualization software and programming languages (i.e. PowerBI, Python, SQL)
  • Experience with web development and/or SharePoint creation and management
