Function: Product Engineering
Title: Part-Time Student-Product Engineering-Waterloo IA - 71951 

 

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Build and maintain project management tools, spreadsheets, metric reports and the department website
  • Provide support to Application Engineers expediting part and engine shipments, procurement and storage
  • Create work requests for lab and test site systems
  • Gather, review and analyze information from various sources
  • Track and maintain application requirements test results database 
  • Produces a variety of correspondence and reports in support of department processes
  • Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products

 

 What Skills You Need

 

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology or Engineering; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university (Hawkeye, UNI, Wartburg, etc).
  • Graduation date of May 2022 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
  • 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester

  • Understanding of various functions within respective business
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, effective time management and the ability to work independently
  • Microsoft Application: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Access, Project, SharePoint, Power Apps and InfoPath
  • Basic understanding of engines and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge on VBA scripting, HTML and/or JavaScript
