Main Responsibilities

Develops processes and procedures for local use to ensure compliance to various laws. Manages daily activities of Plant Protection Officers to ensure protection of assets, materials, equipment, facilities, and people. Manages access control for all internal and external entities. May also have additional responsibilities in areas such as security and housekeeping.

What Skills You Need

  • Interprets local laws set by Homeland Security (such as Customs Trade Partnership Act against Terrorism) and develops processes and procedures to ensure compliance.  |  Provides administrative guidance, direction, and supervision to a staff of security personnel at a unit. This includes determining schedules, procedures, processes, and providing work direction.
  • Manages one or more of the following: house alarm system for key managers, janitorial services including contracts and consumables, and landscape maintenance contracts. May also provide safety kits or conducts security assessments.  |  Conducts facility security audits and makes enhancement recommendations to work site management for matters related to security equipment repairs, upgrades and installs, officer staffing requirements, changes in security processes and procedures, training needs, and officer performance issues.
  • Assigns and provides direction to security personnel responsible for specialty duties such as investigations, fire protection, training, emergency and Standard Operating Procedures preparation, fleet management, and mobile patrols.
  • Manages and conducts investigations related to security matters (robberies, intrusions, losses, etc.)  |  Manages security planning for international VIP visitors coming to Mexico (transportation, advance, escort, safe routes, risk assessment, etc) |  Directs and/or participates during crisis emergency or serious situations that require security planning, involvement, or intervention.  |  Develops and reviews various security reports related to security incidents, operating procedures, post orders, equipment inventory and inspections, training, and various projects.
  • Coordinates fire brigade and participates as a member.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge about security systems and related technical information.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention strategies.
  • Knowledge about fire, security, life safety, and construction code information at the local, state, and national levels for various electronic systems.
  • Ability to develop clear concise written communication to various management levels throughout the enterprise
  • English language, written and conversational.

Education

  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • Security certifications, licenses or degrees; desirable
