Machine Support Specialist (m/f/d)  

 

 

A key component of the marketing function at John Deere is the product support team. Members of the team provide technical assistance to John Deere Dealers through the Customer Contact Management System (CCMS). The work is challenging, fast-paced and very fulfilling. Product support professionals work with every area of the company, including engineering, service parts, manufacturing, marketing, the branch organization, dealers and customers. Through exposure to all facets of our business, individuals can identify other areas of the company that may serve as a future career path.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Machine Support Specialist, you will provide product and customer support, primarily through the CCMS system for agricultural machinery in the Crop Care platform. Issues or problems addressed by this position are often complex in nature. They can deal with multi-function or multi-platform issues. For example, many of these complex issues could initially be considered hydraulic or electrical in nature and can be related to one functional platform or another (i.e. GPS vs. Vehicle vs. Implement). In addition, you will:

  • Develop new solutions and provide product technical support to field teams, channel partners, and customers on complex problems.
  • Identify and communicate emerging issues or complex product problems based on field information using the documentation processes.
  • May create and deliver complex technical content training materials.
  • May travel to the field to collect failure data to provide problem definition on complex problems.

What Skills You Need:

You are an excellent communicator in English language, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Technology/ Engineering with a technical or agri-technical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in a related field.

We also require:

  • Master French language skills.
  • Technically astute, particularly in hydraulic – electric and software systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Ability to read engineering prints and schematics.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to perform in worldwide team structures with different cultures.
  • Good communication skills working with fellow Machine Support Specialist, design engineers, or other multifunctional teams for further understanding.
  • Good conversation skills with critical customer and field teams.
  • This position requires the willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
