Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Software System Engineer for John Deere in Austin, TX, you will:
- Design and implement core infrastructure components and solutions to support our John Deere vehicle systems;
- Drive integration and software development activities around infrastructure systems (embedded operating systems, reprogramming, networks, and diagnostics) into John Deere products;
- Provide technical leadership and lead the development of proof-of-concepts and technologies;
- Support first adopters on application of new core technologies;
- Participate in and lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to choose new technologies;
- Resolve system issues through analysis and its impact on hardware and software.
- Up to 20% domestic travel required.
What Skills You Need
- 4 years of experience in analyze, debug and test CAN-based and LIN-based vehicle networks using Vector Tools (CANoE / CANalyzer)
- 2 years of experience in design and architect Automotive CAN Networks with multiple control units and CAN busses in a secure network
- 6 years of experience in write software in Visual Studio environment using fluent programming skills in C, C++ and Python
- 2 years of experience in generate detailed technical Software Systems Engineering requirements for embedded software solutions
- 3 years of experience in design systems that adhere to the Universal Diagnostic Service (UDS) Protocol to ensure stable and diagnose-able systems
- 6 years of experience in debug deep technical software issues on microcontrollers for embedded vehicle electronics controllers using Greenhills debugger or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in develop drivers for EEProm and XCP Drivers in Embedded Operating System
- 4 years of experience in develop and debug Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS) and deeply understand how it is used by vehicle control systems. Including multi-core applications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field plus 6 years related experience.
