Title: Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) Engineer - 2025010
Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position
Your Responsibilities
As a Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) Engineer for John Deere in Cedar Falls, IA, you will develop analytical acoustic and vibration models of tractor vehicles, systems, and components. In addition, you will:
- Create finite element models of individual parts using appropriate preprocessing tools to meet accepted best practices;
- Apply proper model boundary conditions to represent how the part will be used in a tractor;
- Assemble individual part models into assemblies representing complex systems and complete tractors;
- Test physical hardware and correlate the analytical models to test results;
- Incorporate new tools and techniques to increase NVH analysis competency within the group;
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design complex tractor vehicles and systems to meet functional requirements for acoustics and vibration performance;
- Mentor junior engineering and technical employees to aid in their development.
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel required. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 20% remote work allowed.
What Skills You Need
- 5 years of experience in use results of simulations and tests of vehicle structures and systems to propose design solutions to meet NVH requirements
- 5 years of experience in perform NVH simulation of vehicle structures, systems, and full vehicles for current and future programs
- 5 years of experience in use industry tools such as Hyperworks Suite or ANSA/Metapost to prepare FEA models for simulation and post-process results
- 5 years of experience in develop and implement new simulation tools for upfront NVH analysis of machine systems
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 5 years related experience.
