Your Responsibilities
As a Supply Management Planner for JD Des Moines Works located in Des Moines, IA, you will communicate with suppliers daily regarding delivery schedules. You will expedite direct material to provide adequate supply of material necessary to run the business. Additional responsibilities will include managing factory Hot Part Requests, Aged ASN’s, Goods Receipt Compliance Issues and supplier delinquency recovery plans. You will:
- Work with the Supply Management Specialist to maintain an ongoing relationship with assigned suppliers as well as monitor and improve supplier performance; measure the performance of the supplier and define corrective actions; may negotiate with suppliers to resolve short-term performance problems
- Drive continuous improvement in terms of performance with the supply base, using Achieving Excellence process and criteria
- Resolve shipping and receiving problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers
- Schedule and expedite the delivery of purchased materials to support a production plan, including recommendations for premium logistic alternatives when appropriate

What Skills You Need
- Understanding of order fulfillment process
- Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of unit processes and operations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of software, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on business needs
What Makes You Stand Out
- Previous supply management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Cross-functional experience in areas of material flow, supplier development, logistics and operations
- Proficient in Tableau, Power Automate, VBA Macro Development, Python Scripting, and SharePoint
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Degree in a Business/Management, Engineering/Technology or Supply Management discipline or equivalent work experience
