Your Responsibilities


As a Manfacturing Engineer for Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Investigates, gathers and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks. In addition, you will...


  • Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.
  • Identifies and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.
  • Works with electronic tools to perform engineering functions.
  • Develops and implements plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System. Designs operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation.
  • Participates in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency.
  • Implements new manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Modifies existing performance pay plans; assists in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans.

What Skills You Need


  • Demonstrated customer facing experience
  • 1 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: Industrial, Product, Manufacturing, Quality, Electrical. College Coursework, Internships, Projects, etc. is acceptable.
  • 1 or more years of experience with process development and improvement, tooling design, fixturing and workstation layout? College Coursework, Internships, Projects, etc. is acceptable.
  • 1 or more years of experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, and CreoView. College Coursework, Internships, Projects, etc. is acceptable.
  • 1 or more years developing and deploying shop floor documentation (sequence of events and operator methods sheets). College Coursework, Internships, Projects, etc. is acceptable.
  • Effective communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced/high energy environment

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Manufacturing engineering experience supporting assembly operations of similar products
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases.
  • Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, quality.
  • Experience in Project management and business planning.
  • Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes, quality, tooling, and safety




Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience.
    • May 2022 and December 2022 Graduates encouraged to apply
